Finnish Rock'n'roll band ZOOK
ZOOK's been playing together since 2003. First public performance was in Swengi Club, Järvenpää on December the same year. Since then ZOOK has been busy touring Finnish rock clubs - visiting places like Torvi/Lahti, Soopeli/Citykäytävä-Helsinki, Semifinal/Tavastia-Helsinki, Henry's Pub/Kuopio, regularly.
Also some great festivals like Faces/Billnäs and Puistoblues/Järvenpää have had faith in ZOOK in summer -05, even though the fairly new band had only released one single.
The musicians of ZOOK are all experienced rockers who love what they are doing - playing their original music for people. Singer Bryn Jones, originally a welshman, writes strong lyrics which tell real stories. ZOOK cares especially for the rhythm and warm full sound when they perform. Straight rock'n'roll with a flavour of soul and blues is the reason why ZOOK is put together and happiness that the music produces is the cause why they continue doing it!
Debut album in January 2006
During the fall 2005, ZOOK recorded and finished their debut album "Root Canal Recovery" which was released in Jan the 11th 2006. The band celebrated it by playing in all the smallest rock pubs and clubs around the Helsinki area in January, and also toured Finland during March-April 2006.
The album consists of twelve original songs and a video of a song "Chemistry". Lyrics are written by singer Bryn Jones and all music is composed and played by the four members of the band. Mainly straight rock'n'roll, the album also includes couple of numbers with a strong soul vibe and couple slower pieces. Fearless and warm playing is backing up strong singing by Bryn, who sings texts that do tell real stories. These guys are here to play rock'n'roll music with a real band.
