The album "PRESENT & Absent" consists of instrumental tunes composed by Jarno Kukkonen, and played by his trio. It was recorded live with no overdubs during a couple of hot summer days in Helsinki, in July 2006. It was mixed later, during cold winter days in December, by a great engineer and musician Tommi Vainikainen, who cared and worked hard to get the music sound as "one," instead of separate isolated sections. In the mastering session, Svante Forsbäck from Chartmakers, finalized the album to sound complete and real.
The music is jazzethnicgroovyfunkyprogressiverock-type of a combination of several influences. Played by an uncompromising trio, who really are into what they are doing, it all sounds clear and makes sense. All three musicians are widely experienced in playing improvisational music and they have a broad vocabulary when jamming and soloing. In spite of it's spontaneity, the music is highly organized and maintains very high energy level throughout the album. The players' confidence and trust in each other produces melodic and rhythmic tensions that are skillfully built, sustained and released. Interaction on the present moment is the name of the game.

Album was released in May the 23rd 2007. Available in all Finnish music stores, distribution by Playground. Downloading will be available in all major digital distribution stores during the summer.
